Trip Overview

Dzongri Trek, for those with little time and less inclination to undergo the rigors of hard mountain trekking, a trek up to the meadows will offer the benefits of having experienced a truly spectacular alpine trek.

The trail runs through moss-laden forests of oak, chestnut, pine, maple, magnolia, and rhododendron culminating in the meadows of Dzongri at 4,000 meters with exceptional mountain views. It is a naturalist’s paradise. These forests harbor hundreds of varieties of wild plants, exotic orchids vie for attention with equally spectacular varieties of birds and butterflies. Some of the animals found along this trail are the Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Musk Deer, Marbled Cat, Langur, and the Red Panda.

Nepal is a nation between India and Tibet known for its temples and Himalayan mountains, which include Mt. Everest. Kathmandu, the capital, has a mazelike old quarter filled with Hindu and Buddhist shrines.

We did the 12-day itinerary trekking to Everest Base Camp. We booked it all from England and communicated with the owner Hari via email. Such a nice family that owns and runs this business. Very friendly and welcoming. We had loads of cups of tea with them in their shop in Thamel before and after our trek.
