Trip Overview

Milke Danda Nepal Rhododendron Trek leads through pleasant lowland country, up onto a remote, uninhabited ridge with fine mountain views of four of the world’s five highest peaks. The first few days out of Basantapur are easy and pleasant, leading up to Gupha Pokhari, where Makalu”s reflection simmers in the water of a pond. A trail continues up through the extensive pure rhododendron forests of the Milke Danda, past herders camps, and onto Jaljale Himal ridge (4765 meters), a rocky ridge set with a few small lakes. From the end of February to April is the best time for the rhododendron flower.

For the return, several trails run down side ridges to reach Tumlingtar where we catch our flight to Kathmandu. Trekkers carry an only daypack and walk at their own pace.

Average hiking per day will be 6-7 hr a day.

Client's Reviews

Nepal is a nation between India and Tibet known for its temples and Himalayan mountains, which include Mt. Everest. Kathmandu, the capital, has a mazelike old quarter filled with Hindu and Buddhist shrines.

We did the 12-day itinerary trekking to Everest Base Camp. We booked it all from England and communicated with the owner Hari via email. Such a nice family that owns and runs this business. Very friendly and welcoming. We had loads of cups of tea with them in their shop in Thamel before and after our trek.
