Trip Overview

Tiji Festival is demon chasing festival in western planet, the festival last for 3 days, the festival also known with the name Tenji . The event takes place in the largest village of upper Mustang known as Lomanthang which is capital of upper Mustang. The festival usually celebrates around 5th of May every year.   However since they are following Lunar Tibetan calendar; so festival date is not always same. The 3 days Himalayan festival performs in middle of the ancient and traditional Tibetan style village of Lomanthang. In other word it is completely monk's event where all he monks local monks participant with playing instrument and elaborate dressed mask dance. The 3 days monks dance is the highlight of the Tiji festival trek where west meet with east. Tiji festival period is the busiest season in the year at Lomanthang. Apart of the 3 days monks dance, upper mustang is very popular for explore the earliest cave likely Chhoser Cave, Nifu Cave Monastery, Luri Cave, Chhugsi cave, Konchok Ling, John Cave and explore the Buddhism. We mostly see Shagya pa sect schooling around the Upper Mustang and most need to visit beautiful and important Ghar Gompa which is first gompa made by Guru Ringpoche in his life. Trip can be done with Jeep safari or with the horse ride; since there is road trip is because for all the age ( 8 years to 70 years ) of people.
